Decent service, quick delivery

I switched to Gen Mobile recently and ordered the 3GB Data Plan. The SIM card arrived in about 4 days, which was faster than I expected. Activation was smooth; I kept my old number without any issues. The coverage on the 5G network has been generally good in my area. My only small gripe is that their customer service chat wasn't available late at night when I had a question about my data usage, but I got it sorted out the next morning. Overall, it's a solid prepaid option for the price.

Good value for a basic plan

I was looking for a cheap phone plan and found their $9 per month plan. It came with free international calling which was a bonus. Activation was pretty straightforward after I got the SIM. Saved me a few bucks compared to what I was paying before.

Reliable service, easy refills

I've been with Gen Mobile for over a year now, mainly using their 10GB Data Plan. This time I opted for the 3-Month Plan to save a bit upfront. The service has been consistently good, just like my previous orders. I like that refilling is super easy online and I never have to worry about my service cutting out. The international calling has always worked well for me, which is a big reason I stick with them. It's just a dependable option.

I'm trying to compare the 15GB plan with what Mint Mobile offers. Anyone have experience with both and can tell me the real difference?

K Kate Romero 3 months ago

Gen Mobile has better international call options bundled in, if that's important to you. Mint's more about raw data sometimes.

D Dana Kaur 3 months ago

I switched from Mint. Data speeds felt similar but Gen Mobile's customer service was easier to get a hold of for me. Also, the international calling was a huge plus for family overseas.

Thinking of getting the annual plan to save some cash. Is it really a good deal compared to paying monthly? Any catches?

M Megan Y. 3 months ago

Yeah, the annual plans usually have a bigger discount than monthly. No real catches, just you're committing for the whole year upfront.

M Mark Y. 3 months ago

It works out to be cheaper per month for sure. Just make sure you're happy with the service since you're paying for a year. I got one of their 3-month plans first to test it out.

Can I keep my old number if I switch to Gen Mobile? Or do I have to get a new one?

N Neil Foster 3 months ago

You can definitely keep your number. Just make sure you tell them during the activation process. It's called 'porting' your number.

S Sam H. 3 months ago

I ported my number from T-Mobile last month, it was super easy. Took about a day for it to fully switch over.

So if I buy one of their phones, like a Samsung, and it doesn't work out, can I return it easily?

P Paula 2 months ago

I returned a flip phone a few months ago, it was pretty straightforward. Just make sure you do it within their return window, I think it's 14 days.

J Jared L. 2 months ago

They have a return policy for phones, usually you gotta send it back within a couple weeks in good condition. Check their site for the exact days though.

Thinking about the $9 plan, but how's the coverage in like, Houston? Anyone there use it?

S Steve L. 2 months ago

It uses a major 5G network, so usually, coverage is pretty solid in big cities. I'm in Dallas and haven't had issues.

P Paula 2 months ago

Yeah, it's on AT&T's network I think, so if AT&T is good there, Gen Mobile should be too. My buddy in Austin has it and no complaints.
